真夜中の太陽〜イーグル・サミットにて〜（１）

Midnight Sun at Eagle Summit vol.1.

夏ですねぇ〜〜〜〜。
It's summeeeeeerrr!




数日前に夏至が過ぎたばかりの今、フェアバンクスは24時間明るいです。でも厳密に言うと北極圏より少し南なので、 一日に数時間ほど日が沈みます。そこで今回広美は、スティーセ・ハイウェーを北東に約160km行った所にある イーグル・サミットに、沈まない太陽を見に行くことにしました。 イーグル・サミットも実は北極圏外なのですが、標高が高いため、夏至の前後10日くらいは太陽が沈まないそうです。
ちなみに地図はここ。
It is bright for 24 hours a day in Fairbanks now because summer solstice has passed just few days ago. But actually, the sun sets a few hours during midnight in Fairbanks that exists a little bit south of the Arctic Circle. So, I went to Eagle Summit located 100 mile northeast from Fairbanks on Steese Highway, to see the midnight sun. Eagle Summit is also located out of the Arctic Circle, but the sun does not set there for 10 days around the summer solstice because of its height.

今広美が立っている場所はイーグル・サミットの30kmほど手前、１２マイル・サミットです。
雪が融けて間も無いのか、足元にはたくさんのかわいらしい花が咲いていましたぁ。
I am now at Twelvemile Summit, 20 miles to Eagle Summit.
A lot of flowers were blooming there, it might not been long time passed after snow had melted.



まだ夜まではかなり時間があるので、とりあえず花の写真をとることにします。
ちなみに上の写真はワタスゲね。
でも、他の花の名前はよくわかりませんですぅぅ。
図鑑でやっと調べたものばかりなので、間違っていたら教えてくださいね。
I took some pictures of flowers because I had a time before midnight.
The above picture is Alaska Cotton, however, I don't know other flowers.
I investigated with books but please tell me if some of those are incorrect.

Wooly Lousewort. May be.

う〜ん、アネモネの仲間みたいだけど。。
Seems like a kind of Anemone. . .

ツガザクラの一種でしょうか。
Bell Heather.

ラブラドール・ティーかな？
Labrador Tea?

ほんとは咲いてる花全部撮りたかったんだけど、蚊に追われて退却。
ま、最後に全景の写真だけでも。。
I had thought to take pictures of all flowers, but I couldn't because swarms of mosquitoes bothered me.
So, I took some of those and overall of the view.
